Amidst all the challenges we've experienced this past year, there's always been someone that made us hold on and strive further - Phoebe. It is true that life has never been the same again since she came into our lives. She made me realize what unconditional love really is. There's just nothing more fulfilling than to see her turn into a very sweet, smart and loving child. More importantly, she has done something no one else could - she made me GROW UP.

We celebrated her very much anticipated first birthday last September 30. We decided to have her "real" party in Manila so we kept the celebration here in NY short and simple. Still, I couldn't resist the temptation of putting up birthday decorations - something I can show her when she's older. That morning, we went to mass, put up the deco, prepared the spaghetti and picked up the rest of the food.

Luckily, Uncle Jorge, Auntie Pearlie together with Mark, Aisa and Ethan were able to drop by after work. Marc came all the way from Vienna to bring his gifts to his inaanak. The celebration was simple but fun. Phoebe enjoyed playing with her gifts especially with the envelopes!  lol
